About Us
Peja started as a young girl in Chicago Public Schools who noticed the lack of resources for her Deaf and Hard of Hearing friends, seeing them go away to expensive schools for the help they needed. Peja Helping Hands wants to engage students in the Deaf community with experiences of a public education that seeks to strengthen the knowledge and skills of providing students with a theoretical and practical foundation in teaching alphabet, conversation skills, and web-based teachings using "Sign School". Peja Helping Hands will integrate with curriculums of elementary, high schools, and after-school programs teachings on American Sign Language (ASL).
